ABOUT

Welcome to my Forest Therapy sessions, where we will embrace the healing power of nature. Join me as we explore the enchanting forests and green spaces of Bainbridge Island. Whether you are a part of a corporate team, an individual navigating life's transitions, or someone seeking solace and inner peace, each walk invites you to slow down, awaken your five senses, and reconnect with the gentle wisdom the natural world offers. Let’s embark on this journey together.

I have been a forest bathing (Shinrin-yoku) researcher and a published author for the past 10 years. I am also a certified Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT) guide living on Bainbridge Island. In addition, I have an extensive background as an educator in higher learning, writer, editor, and healthcare professional.  Bainbridge Island offers 49 miles of gorgeous trails maintained by the Bainbridge Island Parks & Trails Foundation.

THE RESEARCH

Forest bathing (also known as “Shinrin-yoku”) is a traditional Japanese practice of slowly walking through a nature-based setting, such as a forest or park, while being aware of your five senses.
